Get You Seen - work placement

This month I completed a work placement with Birmingham based PR company Get You Seen
My main responsibilities included writing blog posts for the Get You Seen blog as well as writing press releases for a new client of their Sasy n Savy. I was also responsible for searching appropriate media contacts for Sasy n Savy and producing an easily readable database.

I really enjoyed my time at Get You Seen, everyone at the company was friendly and keen to offer advice for improving my employability and the skills I already have. I hope to return to the company in September for further placements.

Work Placement interview - Get You Seen: marketing and PR

Last week I attened a work placement interview at Birmingham based PR agency getyouseen. This was a really exciting experience for me as I have not previously had an interview of this sort.

The interview was a really insightful experience for me because the company is currently re-branding themselves and they are looking for a student with writing skills in order to win new clients as well as someone who could possibly join their team after university.

I am yet to hear back from this interview however I am hopeful I am successful as I feel this experience will be an amazing opportunity to establish myself as a PR professional.

Working at Haslimann Taylor

During August 2013 I completed a week long work placement with Haslimann Taylor (HTPR), one of Birminghams biggest PR agencies.

This was my first work placement as a university student and my first experience of what it would actually be like to work as a professional in the PR industry so as you can imagine it was a little daunting at first.

Of course I had no need to be worried, te staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and luckily didn't mind all my questions about working in PR. My week at HTPR was amazing and it really encouraged me to chase a career in PR.

Some feedback from HTPR:

"Danielle was a pleasure to have on work experience. She was extremely punctual and polite and fitted in well with the team. She was extremely outgoing which is important in PR and she always asked for more work when she completed her tasks. She was extremely helpful during her visit and I would certainly not hesitate in having her back."

I have continued to be in contact with employees at HTPR and I am hoping to do another weeks placement during easter this year.
